This is a keto recipe for sweet, glazed chicken seasoned with five aromatic herbs. The five-spice powder includes cloves, cinnamon, star anise, black pepper and fennel.
The chicken will take about an hour and a half to cook, but it’s a great budget keto recipe that you could have enough for a whole week. You will need a baking tray and aluminum foil.

Ingredients :
Whole chicken 1 piece.
Soy sauce 30 ml
Sugar substitute 1g
Ginger (sliced) 6 units.
5 spice powder 1g
Sugar-free maple syrup 2g
Step 1
In a large zip-top bag, mix together the soy sauce, sweetener, ginger slices, and the rest of the spices.
Step 2
Remove the powder from the chicken and pour half a teaspoon of the 5 spice powder inside the bird.
Step 3
Place the chicken in the seasoning bag, spread it gently all over the meat and leave to marinate overnight.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees before baking. You need to make sure there is space under the chicken, so use a roasting rack or just roll up 3-4 balls of foil and place the chicken on them.
Step 5
Tuck the wings under the chicken, cut holes in the bottom of the chicken to secure the legs.

Bake the chicken with your favorite vegetables for 20 minutes

After 20 minutes, pour the chicken with the sauce ( juice ) that will release on the baking tray. If it’s not enough, you can add olive oil.
Step 8
Cook for an hour, pouring the juice from the baking tray every 20 minutes. In the meantime, heat the sauce in a small ladle. Stir regularly to keep it from sticking.
Once baked, start pouring over the chicken every 10 minutes for half an hour.
After that, remove the tray from the oven and let the dish stand for 10 minutes before serving.
